Ordering System

Everything you need to know about OSS’s Open Bites ordering system.

General Information

Open Bites is an integrated ordering system designed for restaurants, cafés, bars, taverns, and stores offering delivery & takeaway services.

Which types of businesses can use it?

It is ideal for small and medium-sized food service businesses that need speed and organization, as well as businesses looking for integration with delivery platforms.

How does it work?

The system operates with a local central computer, while the ordering terminals—either mobile phones or tablets—use the store’s wireless network. An internet connection is required for receipt issuance.

A typical installation includes a computer (which can be used either as a server or as a workstation), wireless devices for order taking, printers for printing orders and receipts, and kitchen screens.

Does it work from mobile or tablet?

Yes, Open Bites supports wireless ordering from Android devices through a dedicated application, and from iOS devices through a browser.

Is printing and order display supported (Kitchen printer and kitchen screens)?

When the order is completed, the items are printed at their corresponding preparation stations or displayed on the designated kitchen screens. Multiple preparation stations are supported depending on the workstation. Kitchen screens display the order time.

How is table management supported?

The table screen coexists with the order screen, improving functionality. It covers the needs of initial table selection and release. Items can be fully or partially transferred. The table screen shows the duration of stay, the number of guests, and the waiter assigned to the table.

Delivery and Platforms

Is there Caller ID for telephone orders?
Yes, caller ID is supported through a device connected to the computer and the store’s router.

Is there integration with e-food or Wolt?
Yes, Open Bites supports sending items/inventory to Wolt and e-food, as well as importing the order into the system upon its completion on the platform.

Features & Support

What applies to Ordering and Ingredients?
Ordering is implemented through fast grouping screens of items in special categories. There are special ingredient screens depending on the item, comments per order line, and comments for the entire order.

No need to worry about complex orders—everything is recorded.

Is support provided?
OSS provides training and support 7 days a week for handling and technical issues.

 

How are receipts issued, and payments handled?
Open Bites supports issuing order slips and receipts either through a provider or through a fiscal device (FIMAS) for cases without tables. All requirements for myDATA and electronic delivery notes are covered. You can issue a receipt and get paid from any device using soft POS.

Full Warehouse Management

How is stock balance monitored?
Full warehouse monitoring is provided using Open Retail options. Purchases, returns, and deliveries are recorded via handheld devices, with immediate warehouse updates.

What applies to Consumptions and Productions?
Consumption and production processes are supported for inventory monitoring and management.
